On January 17, 2013, life changed drastically for Brooks Dremely and his family. Unfortunately, Brooks experienced a devastating spinal cord injury which has challenged him and his family. After a long hospital stay and therapy at TIRR, the family began to search for additional avenues to augment Brooks’s lifelong recovery process. At the top of their list was Project Walk® Paralysis Recovery Centers, but unfortunately they were located in California. Determined, the Dremely family went to learn and experience Project Walk.
“We were so impressed and inspired by the excitement, hope and knowledge presented at Project Walk. What else could we do but bring Project Walk to the Houston area where there was nothing like the experience we had just had!” says Cindy Dremely. “As a family, we opened the first Project Walk Recovery Center in the southern part of the US, located here in Missouri City and we look forward to wonderful things.”
Project Walk® Paralysis Recovery Centers, the world leader in paralysis recovery, provides an improved quality of life for people with disabilities through intense activity-based recovery programs, education, training, research and development.
Project Walk understands that every client has special needs; therefore, we offer several programs to best meet those needs and optimize our clients’ chances for recovery. Those options include both facility recovery options and home recovery options which provide different levels of support. Our facility recovery programs will provide the client with one-on-one training, for a 2-3 hour training session 2 to 3 days a week.
Saturday December 6th marked a milestone. A much needed grand opening of Project Walk in Missouri City, Texas was celebrated in intent for helping out the patients in need of rehabilitation in the greater areas of Houston and beyond.
